Dai Manuel

Hey there, wellness warriors, welcome back to a special short episode of the 2% Solution. I'm your host, diamond Wall, and today we're doing a quick mindset reset Because, lord knows, I need it, and I bet you need it too. Whether in the car, at the gym or just needing a moment to reframe and refocus, this is going to be your go-to five-minute burst of positivity and focus. All right, let's get into it.

Dai Manuel

Life gets busy, and I don't really like the word busy. I prefer the word full Right, because busy implies that we don't have a lot of control over what the heck's busy, and I don't really like the word busy. I prefer the word full right, because busy implies that we don't have a lot of control over what the heck's happening, what's coming at us, how we're dealing with it, all the cliches that come with that right. But when life is full, it implies that there's a lot more intentionality on the things that we fill it with. When things do get busy, it feels a little bit out of control, and when we lose that little bit of sense of control, all sorts of things can creep in and overwhelm us. I know that's what happens to me. So life gets busy and sometimes everything seems like pulling us in different directions. I know I told you those cliches. They have a root in truth, don't they? But remember your mindset is the steering wheel of your life. Where you direct it, your energy will follow. Did you know that studies show positive thinking can increase your lifespan, lower rates of depression and even boost your immune system? According to the Mayo Clinic, a positive mindset isn't just about feeling good, it's about living better and longer. So how do we get that positive mindset back when we're feeling a bit off track? Well, here's a few things that I know get referenced quite frequently, and I'm repeating these not just for you but for myself to hear again as well.

Dai Manuel

Number one gratitude check. Take a moment right now. Think of three things you're grateful for. It can be as simple as the coffee you had this morning, maybe a stranger's smile that you passed in the street, or maybe it was that connection conversation you had with a good friend or with your partner in life. Gratitude shifts your focus from what's wrong to what's right.

Dai Manuel

Number two affirmation reset. Repeat after me I am strong, I am capable, I am enough. Say it again I am strong, I am capable, I am enough. All right, one more. I am strong, I am capable, I am enough. Simple, right, but so powerful Affirmations literally help rewire our brains to focus on our strengths and our capabilities.

Dai Manuel

Now, third, breath break. Okay, take a breather. Let's do this together. Inhale deeply for four, now exhale for four. Hold for four. Inhale deeply for four, hold Exhale for four. Hold Exhale.

Dai Manuel

Feel that it's like hitting the reset button on your stress. I equate it to those that saw the microsoft meltdown. That happened, uh, and for those that may have missed it yeah, there was a lot of blue screens around the world, a lot of people grounded, quite literally, as a lot of airlines were affected by it. But remember the old old PC days Control-Alt-Delete. Well, think about your breather break as a quick Control-Alt-Delete for your mindset, for your energy, for your stress. So those are three things I invite you to try Gratitude check, affirmation, reset, breath break. Doesn't take much to do them, but super effective.

Dai Manuel

Now that we've reset our mindset, let's talk focus. The key to staying focused is to break your task into small, manageable steps. Remember, it's not about doing everything at once, it's about doing the next right thing. Set a timer for 10 minutes and tackle one task, just one. When the timer goes off, take a short break, then move on to the next thing. This method, called the Pomodoro technique, is a game changer for productivity. You've heard me mention it a couple of times. I've got a number of articles on my blog that talks about this. Social media posts have talked about this because it's effective and it works and it makes a positive impact when we implement it.

Dai Manuel

The Pomodoro technique is a time management method that involves breaking work into 25 minute intervals called Pomodoros, and I've been told Pomodoro, I think, is Italian for tomatoes. Okay, cause it's kind of based on the Pomodoro. Uh, these tomato timers that you can get for your kitchen. They usually take longer, so it's like taking a longer break of like 15 to 30 minutes after this sort of 25 minute intense working interval. So this technique helps maintain focus and productivity by creating a sense of urgency, but it also allowing regular breaks to recharge. To use it best, choose a singular task, set a timer for 25 minutes, work until the timer rings, then take a five-minute break and repeat that. Adjust the intervals to suit your work style and energy style if necessary, so you don't have to do it the way I've just talked about it 25 on, five minutes off and repeat for a set amount Again.

Dai Manuel

Play with it, find what flows best for you, but either way, do something different than what you might be doing now if you're finding that life is feeling a little bit busier than you want it to. So there you have it, my wellness warriors a quick mindset reset to get you back on track. Remember positivity and focus are your superpowers. Use them wisely.
