Hello, wonderful listeners Can't believe it's Christmas. I'm up in Kelowna with my family it's actually where my wife's family's from and it's just crazy. It's a big family. My wife has five other siblings, so you can imagine, you know, us being the eldest I'm the eldest of my brother and I, and then Chrissy's the eldest of literally six kids. So, needless to say, they well, when they get together. It's a big family, it's pandemonium, but I love it and that's what I signed up for a lot of years ago.
Speaker 1:And I just want to say Merry Christmas and welcome to this special holiday edition of Monday Motivation on the 2% Solution Podcast. I'm Diamond Well, your enthusiastic guide on this journey of self-discovery and improvement. And today, as we bask in the warmth of Christmas, let's talk about gratitude, let's talk about resilience, let's talk about the art of evolving into better human beings, intentionally. First off, did you know that expressing gratitude can increase your long-term well-being by more than 10%? That's what a study in the journal Applied Psychology, health and Well-Being tells us. And count our blessings and be thankful for the year that's been. Now I'm not just talking about being grateful for the ugly Christmas sweater from Aunt Edna. It's about appreciating the big and small things like the resilience we've shown in adapting to the year's challenges. Speaking of resilience, did you hear about this study published in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology? I found that resilient individuals experience better well-being and less depression. That's right.
Speaker 1:Bouncing back has its perks, let's face it, this year has been a bit of a kind of like a snow globe shaken, not stirred. But here's the amazing part each of us has adapted, we've evolved, we've learned, whether it's mastering Zoom calls in your pajamas or learning a new recipe because, let's be honest, banana Bread got old after the third loaf. But we've all grown in our own specific ways. It's not just about personal growth. Our collective resilience has been phenomenal. Did you know? Communities that foster resilience can significantly decrease public health issues, and this is as per a report by the American Journal of Community Psychology. That's the power of coming together, even if it's virtually to sport one another.
Speaker 1:As we sit on our eggnog or maybe hot cocoa, let's take a moment, reflect on our journey. Let's reflect on the highs, the lows and every little bit in between. Let's be thankful for the strength we found in ourselves and in each other. Let's celebrate our ability to adapt, to overcome and, most importantly, to grow. So here's to a Christmas filled with joy, gratitude and the promise of a new year where we can continue to be 2% better every day. From my family to yours, merry Christmas, and may your day be as bright and joyful as the star on top of the Christmas tree.
